Pablo Casals and the Language of the Soul

I have an Inspiration Notebook. It’s a three-ring binder where I have pictures of places I want to visit, people I want to emulate and material things I want to attract. In this notebook is a picture of the Spanish cellist, Pablo Casals, along with a quote by him. It reads:

“Each man has inside him a basic decency and goodness. If he listens to it and acts on it, he is giving a great deal of what it is the world needs most. It is not complicated, but it takes courage for a man to listen to his own inner goodness and act on it. Do we dare to be ourselves? This is the question that counts.”

As I was looking at this picture and quote this morning, I was inspired to learn a bit more about Casals. I found this wonderful video on YouTube, which I think says more about him than perhaps any biography can do:

Whatever one may think of his politics, his personality or his personal life, what I feel from his words and from his music is a great understanding of people and of the soul. For instance, here’s another quote:

“The love of one’s country is a splendid thing. But why should love stop at the border?”

Casals lived through the Catalan fight for independence and through the Spanish Civil War. Opposed to Franco, he spent the rest of his life away from Spain. His understanding of love being without borders was undoubtedly hard won. But when I listen to him play, all of the circumstances of his life, while informing who he was and how he played, come together into something more.

This is something I strive for in my own life: to live it in such a way that it becomes something more than circumstance, but speaks through the music of the soul to others who may need to be reminded of Who We Really Are. To flow with the Divine Symphony every, every day.

“The child must know that he is a miracle, that since the beginning of the world there hasn’t been, and until the end of the world there will not be, another child like him.”

Casals reminds me that the child he speaks of is still inside me and each one of us. That child just needs to be remembered and honored. If you are a parent or grandparent, it’s safe to assume that you want what’s best for your child. What about the child in you? What about wanting what’s best for him or her? I think that in taking time to figure that out and to do something every day to nurture that child, we are tapping into the inner goodness that Casals speaks of.

Abraham-Hicks says that there is nothing more important than feeling good. I think that feeling good is allowing that inner goodness that we are to flow through us. And this, as Casals says, is what the world needs most. You think about that.

Have You Made Your Mind Movie Yet?

You may have heard all the hoopla about Mind Movies and, for whatever reason, decided not to try out this wonderful product. I actually heard that there are still some packages left and that the special offer of 50%  will be on offer from Noon Pacific Time tomorrow, September 23 until the remaining packages are gone. If you’ve been delaying getting yours, you can get yours here. (By the way, I receive nothing for this recommendation. In fact the link above belongs to someone else I know who is an affiliate and she doesn’t even know I’m using it.) I simply like the product and want anyone who wants it to have the opportunity to purchase it at a discount.

However, if you’re still on the fence about this Mind Movie stuff and want to try it out for FREE, try out this homegrown method. First, write out some simple affirmative statements about what you want to create in your life. Make sure they’re in the present tense:

Examples:

Then type these statements out in your favorite presentation software, such as PowerPoint or OpenOffice’s
Impress software. (Open Office is a FR.EE office suite that is compatible with Microsoft Office software).

For best results, use a black background with white text. The Mind Movies folks suggest 48 point type
and a non-serif font such as Arial.

Then go onto the internet and search for images that support these ideas. This can be really fun! Aside from
the image files on Google itself, do a search for free photos and you’ll find dozens of sites that will help
you find the images for your movie. Pick enough images so that you have at least one or two pictures
to go with each affirmative statement, saving each one to a special folder on your desktop. Then
insert these images into your Presentation file with the affirmative statements.

Once you have the statements and the images arranged to your liking, pick some music to play along with your slideshow. Pick something that is uplifting and inspiring, to go along with the new life you’re creating. You could also use brainwave entrainment audios, if you have them, to really speak to your subconscious while you’re watching your slideshow.

Now that your Presentation is ready, and your music is picked out, you’re ready for your “debut.” Start your
music and open your Presentation software. Select View – Slideshow in your Presentation software and voila! You have your own homemade Mind Movie! It’s suggested that you view your Mind Movie at least twice a day — morning and evening.

Give it a try. It can be a lot of fun and is a good way of raising your vibration and your expectancy level.

By the way, if you’d like to see the Mind Movie I made using the software, check it out on You Tube here.

Emotions = Money

Have you ever noticed that some of your friends who complain that money is tight always seem to find money to buy a new car or some other toy that a broke person can’t afford? Or maybe you’ve even noticed that your finances might be tight but you find a way to get the newest iPhone or that hot new outfit. Emotions create desire and pretty soon we’re coughing up the money for these items.

Hey, I’ve been there too. Here’s what is cool about this behavior: it shows us that when there is emotional value in something, we have the means to attract it into our experience. It is that emotional pull that gets our rears into gear and we find a way to make it happen. The trick is to do this more intentionally, on a daily basis.

I’ll give you a few examples to demonstrate how this works. When I first began my coaching practice I drove a Honda Accord. It wasn’t in bad mechanical shape but the paint was oxidizing. It didn’t look good for a “success” coach to drive a deteriorating car. The main thing was that I didn’t feel good driving it. I was clear that I needed to upgrade my vehicle and I didn’t want to spend more than $5000 on a used car. I found a BMW 325i that was perfect. I got a killer price on it. My desire brought me this car at a savings that seemed miraculous.

Many years later, the BMW’s paint began to oxidize and my brother’s purchase of a new car got my interest peaked. I was now hooked on BMWs and wanted a newer one. I went to the BMW dealer and found my perfect car in the first five minutes. I’d never bought a car off of a lot before. I came with no money and no clue about financing and pricing. They asked for a down payment of $8000. Geez! I didn’t have that kind of money available for this type of purchase. But oh! I wanted that car. Had to have it. I told them I’d find a way to finance in the next 24 hours.

Where emotion is strong, there will be a way. I found a way. It looked crazy from the outside looking in but I was confident it would work. It did. And as if that down payment wasn’t enough to challenge me, my monthly car payment was more than my rent at that time. I loved that car so much I was never late on a payment, even through my financial crash a few years back.

Most of my clients want more money. I always tell them to lock on to what they would use the money for. It’s so much more compelling than focusing on a certain amount of money. A couple years back, I decided that it was time for some business debt that Eva and I had together to go bye-bye. We’d been making payments for years on it but I guess neither of us was passionate about deciding it would be paid off before that point. I was tired of seeing the statements for our payments due. As soon as I made the decision it took three months and it was gone. My irritation and decision pulled in additional income to enable us to make the goal.

Emotion is the magnet or repellent to the money we desire. The emotions related to fear are repellents. They’re like a skunk. They stink and nobody wants to go near them. Any emotion relating to joy, love, excitement, peace or confidence is like bees to honey. They find it from far away and it keeps attracting more! Get emotions behind your decision to have more money and you will see an increase immediately!
